Holiday Details
Lake Garda is not just any lake. It's the largest lake in Italy, a
30–mile–long fjord set between the southern rocky toes of the Alps,
surrounded by a soaring landscape but with a gentle Mediterranean
climate good for olive and lemon groves, palms, cypresses, oleanders and
orange trees.
People have been coming here ever since Roman times
for the dramatic views, and Italians themselves find the maritime
climate very agreeable especially during the hot and dry summers. You'll
be staying at a modern 3 star hotel on the Gardone Riviera, along the
south–western shore of the lake, from where you can easily catch a ferry
to other popular lakeside towns. At one time Gardone itself was an
exclusive resort for the Italian upper–crust, and there are traces of
1920s art nouveau elegance still to be seen amid the lush gardens and
opulent villas. One of Italy's most famous and eccentric sons, poet and
war hero Gabriele D'Annunzio, had a grand and bizarre abode here which
is still worth a look, sporting among other things a thousand–seat
amphitheatre, a torpedo–boat, a biplane installed inside the house and a
battleship on the lawn.
Also
recommended is the Giardino Botanico Heller, or Heller Gardens,
featuring a Bridge of Monsters, a Chinese water–clock, sculptures
including a giant wooden Praying Mantis, pop–art by Keith Haring and Roy
Leichtenstein, and more than 2,000 species of plants from around the
world.
There are optional excursions too, so you can use Gardone
as a base to explore the region, visit Verona or Venice, or take a Lake
tour. However you spend your time, we think you'll agree that Lake Garda
in the summer is a very special place indeed.

Itinerary
Saturday
Make your way to your chosen airport for
the flight to Venice, where on arrival we will transfer you to the 3
star Atelier Classic hotel, Gardone Riviera for check in and free time
before the first of seven nights stay.
Sunday
Breakfast and a welcome meeting with your Omega
representative, with an opportunity to book optional excursions, and
then a day at leisure.
Monday – Friday
Days
at leisure to relax by the hotel pool, explore the Gardone Riviera, or
join the optional excursions.
Saturday
Breakfast and then transfer to the airport for your flight home.
Optional pre-bookable excursions available.

This
recently renovated hotel is located in Gardone Riviera, just a short
walk to the lakeside. It has an A la carte restaurant, a first floor
open terrace with swimming pool, and a cocktail bar with rooftop terrace
giving superb views over the lake. There is also a small pre–bookable
health spa with pool and Jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath, frigidarium and
relaxation area.
