Join us on our fantastic 5-day trip to the UKs most loved National Park taking in the landscape and sights like nowhere else in England. Overlooked by Scafell Pike and surrounded by 16 Lakes - this is a truly magnificent trip that is brimming with history and beautiful scenery. We visit the fabulous village of Haworth, home to the famous Bronte Sisters on the journey. There can be few towns with a setting as beautiful as that of Keswick, situated on the shores of Derwentwater and surrounded by mountains. Take time to explore the many shops, galleries and attractions in and around this small and friendly market town. Kendal is known today mainly as a centre for tourism, the home of Kendal mint cake, and as a producer of pipe tobacco and snuff. Its local grey limestone buildings have earned it the nickname "Auld Grey Town". Bowness-on-Windermere has a great deal of shops, with a long high street that stretches down to the lakeshore. Here you will find a few well known high street brands interspersed with art galleries, antique shops, independent gift shops and local artisan food producers. Ambleside is full of shops and restaurants but for something a little different, why not take a short walk from the centre of the village leading up to Stock Ghyll Force, a spectacular 70 foot waterfall which may be viewed safely from a railed viewpoint. At Coniston village you can visit the Ruskin Museum to find out about Donald Campbell’s world record attempt in 1955 and see the impressive lake. We visit Skipton on our return. Take time to sample the fantastic eateries and shops or why not take a trip on one of the narrow boats that start and return to the centre of town.
