Ice Hotel Holidays & Short Breaks Information

The worlds largest igloo, Sweden's famous 'Ice Hotel' is rebuilt every winter for holidays from December to April, within a complex that also includes cosy cabins and hotel rooms.

The Ice Hotel

The Ice Hotel offers double and family rooms plus suites decorated with beautiful ice sculptures. There is also the famous 'Absolut Ice Bar', an art gallery and chapel - plus a heated toilet block along the corridor.

The inside temperature is around -5c and guests sleep in thermal Arctic sleeping bags on ice beds covered in reindeer skins.


Ice Hotel Bed

A night in the Ice Hotel is an experience of a lifetime.  Though fear not, you will be warm in your Ice Bed as you are provided with everything you need to stay warm.


Thermal clothing is provided

Breakfast is taken at the local inn which is just across the road, and lunch or dinner can also be taken there, or at another cosy restaurant nearby.

Cross-country skis and snowshoes can be hired, while kick-sleds are available free of charge.

Warm Accommodation

The warm accommodation comprises stylish hotel rooms or two types of cabin, both types having a lounge, small kitchen area and shower/sc. The two bedroom Nordic cabins can sleep 4, with one double bedded room and one with bunk beds. The popular Aurora cabins have one double bedroom and one single, with sky-lights through which guests can watch the stars or the Northern Lights if weather conditions permit.


A Warm Cabin

All our holiday packages all include a night in the Ice Hotel and a night in a cabin or hotel room, plus an evening snowmobile safari in search of the Northern Lights, with dinner included.

You can start your adventure with a night in Stockholm, or a night in Narvik, in Northern Norway, and then travel into Sweden on the scenic Ofoten Railway.

Excursions & Activities

The evening snowmobile safaris is already included in our tours.  The following are some extra activities that can be booked on arrival, although we recommend pre-booking to guarantee your place and avoid possible disappointment.

Husky Safari
Daily: 0930 - 1100 or 1300 - 1430. About 13km with a short break for coffee & cake. Price from 125 per person

Husky Safari with Lunch
Daily: 1100 - 1500. About 28km with a visit to kennels and wilderness lunch. Price from 230 per person. For the ultimate thrill you can drive your own dog team at a supplement of 75 per person


A reindeer

Raldu - Reindeer / Sami Culture
Daily: 0930 - 1300 or 1430 - 1800. By snowmobile to Sami Camp to try reindeer sledding and learn more of the culture as you enjoy a traditional meal around the open fire in a Sami tent. Price from 120 per person

Snowshoe Trekking
Daily: 0900 - 1130. A 5 minute transfer to the foot of the hill then on showshoes through silent forests to the top of the hill for a wonderful view over Jukkasjarvi. Coffee & cake served. Price from 65 per person

Moose Safari
Daily: 0830 - 1200. By minibus to moose winter pasture with hopefully excellent photographic possibilities. Direct transfer to the airport is possible at the end of this tour. Price from 80 per person

Ice Sculpting
Daily: 1100. Guided by professional Ice Hotel artists. Price from 50 per person
